First, let me introduce you this International famous ski resort. Val d’Isère is one of the oldest ski stations in the world. In fact, some veteran expert skiers believe Val d’Isère is the capital of all ski resorts. The village sits in the Tarentaise valley where you can also find the ski resort of Les Arcs.
At 1,850m altitude, Val d’Isère is a safe bet if you would like ski off-season like late March or late December during Christmas school holidays.
Val d’Isère is among the lucky French ski resorts that have received the label Famille Plus that guarantees you to find lots of facilities for your children such as childcare. Also, the ski village has one of the highest altitude hotels in Europe with Le Refuge de Solaise perched at over 2,500m (8,200ft).
Bear in mind that Val d’Isère hotels and self-catering accommodations could be quite expensive during the ski season compared to other resorts. There are even 5-star hotels in the resort with prestigious Michelin starred restaurants.
But Val d’Isère is the crème de la crème of all ski resorts. So every exceptional good thing comes at a price. But don’t worry, I have found some medium budget hotels or apartments you could snap for your next holiday if you plan well in advance.
