The Costa del Sol is a widely known popular spot for many families in the UK for the summer holidays. Not only is it a home away from home for many, it offers many beautiful landscapes and a ton of activities to get stuck into as a family.
In this guide be, I have shortlisted below the best activities you could do with your family in Costa Del Sol.
If you’re looking to explore a place that has a rich, cultural heritage but is something that kids of all ages can enjoy, then this region of Spain should be on your bucket list for 2023 and beyond.
To help take full advantage of this holiday abroad, here are 10 things to do in Costa del Sol when you’ve got kids to entertain.

Opened in 1986, Aquamija is a water park located in Mijas in the Province of Málaga. It’s one of the most popular water parks available with a wide variety of attractions including a maze of slides, the adventure river, the wave pool, and many more.
Enjoy the attractions and grab a bit to eat whether that be the artisan pancakes and waffles to their delicious donuts!
It’s a fantastic activity for all of the family to get involved with and to help cool down on those hot days in the sun.

2. Aqualand Torremolinos
Temporarily Closed. Re-open on 5th April 2023.
Aqualand is another great water park to spend the day in and is located in the town of Torremolinos, close to the coast.
If you’re a fan of water parks, then this one will certainly satisfy you and all of the family.
There’s a whole host of slides and attractions to take advantage of.
From the chill-out zones for those parents wanting a moment of peace from the chaos to Kidzworld, a special area for the younger kids.

3. Crocodile Park
Another popular spot located in the town of Torremolinos is Crocodile Park. If you’ve never seen a crocodile in the flesh, then you’ll want to head to this attraction where you’ll come face to face with these prehistoric animals.
Surviving over 200 million years, the crocodile is a sight to behold – just make sure you don’t get too close.
The Crocodile Park is open daily and offers regular demonstrations where both you and your children, can learn more about crocodiles.

4. BIOPARC Fuengirola
If you’re looking for an educational experience and a chance to see more of the wildlife that Spain has to offer, then BioParc Zoo is worth adding to your to-do list.

5. Karting Experience
If the need for speed sounds like great fun to have on your family holiday, then the Miramar Karting circuit is sure to get the adrenaline pumping.
Offering two circuits, one for the adults and one for the children, it means everyone will get an opportunity to have fun on the tracks.
Located on the terrace of the Miramar Shopping Center, it also serves as a great spot to do some retail therapy.
You’ve also got a cafeteria on site for when the munchies kick in.

6. Adventure Golf in Fuengirola
For other sports-related activities, some may prefer a slower pace with Adventure Golf.
Located in Fuengirola, which is halfway between Malaga and Marbella, on the coast of Costa de Sol, Adventure Golf is a great spot to unwind with some casual golfing.
No need to book ahead as you can just turn up and start playing.
The golf park is easy to find and there’s a bar and restaurant available too.
Enjoy a quick refreshment at the Golfshak Bar or stay for dinner and enjoy a full meal after swinging the clubs.

7. Butterfly Park – Mariposario de Benlmádena
Located in the heart of the Costa del Sol, it’s only twenty minutes away from Malaga. For those who love beautiful things, then you’ll adore Butterfly Park.
Next to the Thai temple, you can walk amongst more than 1,500 exotic butterflies from around the world.
Freely flying in this tropical paradise, it’s a beautiful sight to behold.
You’ll discover how they’re born, how they reproduce, and much more within this educational experience.

8. Garden of Eagles & Teleferico Benalmádena
The Telepheric Benalmadena is a high-altitude cable car ride experience that starts in Benalmadena and takes you to the top of Monte Calamorro.
At the top, there’s a range of trials available for those who are looking to get some exercise into their holiday.
Enjoy sightseeing in this area as you get spectacular views of the Costa de Sol, the Sierra Nevada, and on some occasions Gibraltar and the coast of Africa!
There’s a lot of wildlife to enjoy here, including the Garden of Eagles which provides an opportunity to take photos with a variety of different species of birds.
It’s a must-visit when coming to the Costa del Sol.

The Selwo Marina is in the heart of the Costa del Sol and is a new concept of the park that helps respect wildlife, rather than invade and disrupt their space.

From different educational talks to getting up close to the wildlife, it’s a great spot to explore the wildlife in a respectful way.

While we’re on the subject of sealife, another family-friendly spot to visit is the Sealife Benalmadena.
Get ready for a world of sealife and discover some of the most incredible creatures through the windows.

If that’s not enough, you can enjoy watching the sharks feed at certain times throughout the week.
