The Costa del Sol is a widely known popular spot for many families in the UK for the summer holidays. Not only is it a home away from home for many, it offers many beautiful landscapes and a ton of activities to get stuck into as a family.
In this guide be, I have shortlisted below the best activities you could do with your family in Costa Del Sol.
If you’re looking to explore a place that has a rich, cultural heritage but is something that kids of all ages can enjoy, then this region of Spain should be on your bucket list for 2023 and beyond.
To help take full advantage of this holiday abroad, here are 10 things to do in Costa del Sol when you’ve got kids to entertain.
1. Aquamijas
Temporarily Closed. Will re-open in the Summer (dates tbc)
Opened in 1986, Aquamija is a water park located in Mijas in the Province of Málaga. It’s one of the most popular water parks available with a wide variety of attractions including a maze of slides, the adventure river, the wave pool, and many more.
Enjoy the attractions and grab a bit to eat whether that be the artisan pancakes and waffles to their delicious donuts!
It’s a fantastic activity for all of the family to get involved with and to help cool down on those hot days in the sun.

2. Aqualand Torremolinos
Temporarily Closed. Re-open on 5th April 2023.
Aqualand is another great water park to spend the day in and is located in the town of Torremolinos, close to the coast.
If you’re a fan of water parks, then this one will certainly satisfy you and all of the family.
There’s a whole host of slides and attractions to take advantage of.
From the chill-out zones for those parents wanting a moment of peace from the chaos to Kidzworld, a special area for the younger kids.

3. Crocodile Park
Another popular spot located in the town of Torremolinos is Crocodile Park. If you’ve never seen a crocodile in the flesh, then you’ll want to head to this attraction where you’ll come face to face with these prehistoric animals.
Surviving over 200 million years, the crocodile is a sight to behold – just make sure you don’t get too close.
The Crocodile Park is open daily and offers regular demonstrations where both you and your children, can learn more about crocodiles.

7. Butterfly Park – Mariposario de Benlmádena
Located in the heart of the Costa del Sol, it’s only twenty minutes away from Malaga. For those who love beautiful things, then you’ll adore Butterfly Park.
Next to the Thai temple, you can walk amongst more than 1,500 exotic butterflies from around the world.
Freely flying in this tropical paradise, it’s a beautiful sight to behold.

8. Garden of Eagles & Teleferico Benalmádena
