1. Giraffe Bath

This child-friendly chain is a safe option for fast, tasty food – it’s always popular with parents thank to the relaxed atmosphere and their delicious brunch served until 5pm. This branch in the Bath’s Southgate development is set over two levels, feeling spacious, light and airy. The myriad of menu choices mean there’s sure to be something to suit every palate.

2. Society Café

Coffee is king at this fashionable yet welcoming cafe with branches in Bath, Bristol and Oxford. The menu also features delicious cakes, sandwiches, pastries and healthy treats for little ones. Children and dogs are very welcome- each cafe has a very laid back atmosphere. There’s a great selection of books and magazines for parents, and regular exhibitions from local artists. And for children there is a creative space where they can let their minds run wild, so you can enjoy a hot coffee in peace!

3. The Honey Café
This refurbished church café is popular with local families thanks to its large indoor play area and pretty garden space. The kids can explore the selection of toys, books and games whilst parents peruse the brand new menu, which now includes breakfast. Open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.

4. Bath Pizza Co

With a lively and family friendly atmosphere, Bath Pizza Co is a great venue where you can eat amazing fresh pizzas made with the morning dough. The restaurant has over 200 seats so plenty of space if you come in Bath for the weekend. Summer evenings can be quite busy with live band but families love this place. Next door, the sister restaurant Green Park Brasserie serves a bottomless brunch on Friday and Saturday too.

5. Giggling Squid

Located in the city centre of Bath right next to the Theatre Royal, Giggling Squid is the place to be if you fancy some delicious ans authentic Thai food with the children. The restaurant offers different sharing platters with curries and stir fries. Whilst they don’t have a dedicated kids menu, I am sure your children will enjoy easy and not spicy dishes such as Sticky Chicken or the classic Pad Thai.

6. The Holburne Garden Cafe

This family friendly museum not only boasts a great range of kids activities, but a lovely spacious cafe too. So it’s worth a visit even if you don’t have time for the museum itself. 7. Alice Park Café
Since being renovated in 2007, the Alice Park Café has become a social hub for the area, serving fresh coffee, sandwiches and cakes to local families, all year round. The friendly, community atmosphere keeps visitors coming back, with lots of seasonal events and social gatherings too.

Created by local mum Flis who worked in hospitality for 15 years, you can be sure this soft play cafe has everything a parent and child could wish for. There’s an extra wide doorway to accommodate buggies, a fab play area with tonnes of toys and plenty of space for toddlers, babies and older kids. There are also ample highchairs, children’s menus, weaning purees, and comfortable nursing chairs complete with breastfeeding pillows. This welcoming space has quickly become a hit with local parents who rave about its laid back atmosphere. Fox & Kit hosts regular classes and events too, from Half Term Craft Classes to Pregnancy Yoga.

9. Newton Farm Shop & Café

A charming rural setting just ten minutes drive from the city centre, this working farm’s café is an idyllic spot for a relaxing meal. The food is hearty and fresh, and almost all sourced from the farm surrounding you. Children can run off steam in the playground, which is dotted with hay bales.

10. Hartley Farm Shop & Kitchen

This cute little farm and cafe is a favourite of local families, thanks to its child friendly menu and furry entertainment. Kids can be let loose on the outdoor play area while you peruse the menu of locally sourced dishes. After your brunch or lunch, have a wander around to meet the pigs, sheep, chickens and horses. There are also a couple of nice country walks which start and end at the farm, as well as regular child-friendly events and workshops. Check the website below for further details.
