A brilliant concept to get kids involved in cooking, this cafe on the edge of Amsterdam’s most popular park has its own vegetable garden, terrace and playground. Children of all ages can come and pick their own fruit and veg, cook it and eat it in the form of cookies, pizza or cakes!

This impressive former water pumping station near Westerpark is now a popular, relaxed restaurant serving classic French cuisine. Don’t miss the excellent selection of local beers too.

3. Le 4 Stagioni
A popular pizzeria which has been serving customers since 1978, this is a favourite spot for local families. The predominantly Italian staff are really welcoming to children, often inviting them into the kitchen to decorate their own ice cream! During the summer Le 4 Stagioni offers a large outdoor terrace that’s perfect for watching the world go by.

4. D&A Hummus Bistro
If you crave for a great hummus bowl, D&A Hummus Bistro is the right place to be with super nice staff and an easy going atmosphere. There are also some hearty food like couscous or beef/lamb kebabs. Expect to wait a bit to get a table as the restaurant can very busy at times but it is so worth it.
