3. No. 1 Harbourside
This buzzing riverside eatery embraces a slow food philosophy and a real sense of community spirit. Using local suppliers wherever possible, the seasonally changing menus offers dishes such as Buddha Bowls, spiced cauliflower burger and Cornish Mussels.
There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and an excellent value children’s menu. Finally, the setting is beautiful in the summer, and there’s lots of outdoor space for the kids to run around.

The place can be a bit crowded on Sunday but when the food is tasty and easygoing to the kids, it’s totally worth it! 8. The Swan
The Swan is a family friendly pub which boasts a selection of toys, games and books, alongside appealingly presented children’s menus. Outside, the Children’s Garden has a climbing frame and slide as well as two play sheds – a café and a school, which have proven very popular. There’s an outdoor seating area too, so parents can keep watch on little ones. And lastly, on Sundays kids eat free!
