Searching for the best family friendly restaurants in Paris? With over 15,000 restaurants listed in Paris according to TripAdvisor, it is easy to get lost with so much variety of food venues in different areas of the city.

Finding the right place to eat with children is equally a challenge unless you go for a Pizzeria or a fast food restaurant. So where could you find the best family friendly restaurants in Paris?

I have done the research for you and found these child-friendly restaurants below so that next time you go in Paris, you will already have your list of restaurants instead of going blind whilst wandering in the city.

1. Les Fils à Maman

Les Fils à Maman has different restaurants in France, Belgium and even in Hong Kong. The concept idea was born out of 4 grown up adults-kids who love their food since they’ve been young boys waiting for their meal cooked by their mom. They only serve food with fresh products and the décor of their restaurants will definitely have your eyes looking everywhere.

This is also a shop with kids clothes, toys, books and more. The venue also organises private events like baby showers, birthday parties. During French school holidays, the venue also organises several workshops such as Lego or Cooking classes.

5. Le Chalet des Iles

✓ Tried & Tested

Currently closed and reopens in April 2024

On the East side of Paris, you can find the beautiful green and woody area of the Bois de Vincennes, famously known for its zoo called Parc Zoologique de Paris. The park is absolutely heaven and such a contrast to the busy city centre of Paris. But what makes it even more attractive in Spring or Summer is to find Le Chalet des Iles restaurant located in the island of the park.

We’ve had lunch (Easter holiday in 2022) at the Chalet during the Easter holiday without any reservations and we couldn’t be happier to be able to dine outside with such a view over the private gardens. They have a kids menu that doesn’t cost the Earth and for adults, they have main courses between 18 and 30 euros.

This restaurant is definitely kids friendly and we loved the fact that our children could play nearby our table while we were chilling out in the sun. Make sure you book in advance your table on the weekend or warm evenings as Parisians head out to this restaurant too!

6. La Cantine at Arkose Nation or Arkose Didot

Set up inside a popular rock climbing venue in the 20th and 14th district, you will find La Cantine, a great restaurant open every day for lunch and dinner.

The décor of the restaurant is very welcoming with lots of plants and colourful walls that make the place special for dinners. La Cantine has been praised by many local families where they take their children for a quick lunch or even better a weekend brunch.

The chef tries to cook local produce from France and aims at offering healthy food for adults and children. Of course, you can find classics like burger or the pasta dish of the day.

Please note there are two different addresses to find La Cantine depending where you are during your visit in Paris.

7. Hippopotamus

Paris doesn’t have a lot of restaurant chains apart from fast food restaurants. If there is one chain that keeps surviving generations, it is Hippopotamus.

The meat-specialised restaurant had various locations around Paris and is famously known for its bright red colour theme.

According to their website, Hippopotamus has open its first restaurant in 1968. As a kid growing up in Paris in the 80s, I have fond memories on how exciting I was when we were going for dinner at Hippo.

It goes without saying that children are very welcomes at any restaurant and had their own kids’ menu with a surprise activity pack with colouring book and pencils.

8. Ground Control

Ground Control is a hidden gem located in the 12th district not too far from the trendy Bercy Village. Built inside an industrial building when snail mail was sorted out in the old days, Ground Control is a great cultural place for everyone including families.

You’ve probably guessed the venue name was inspired by David Bowie’s song to reflect the motto of the place to be closer to Earth.

On the food aspect, Ground Control offers great little restaurants with the label ‘Ecotable’, which guarantee local produce and made in-house dishes for your meals.

Today, you can pick food from 15 different outlets and taste Vietnamese sandwiches, fresh pasta inspired by the Abruzzo region in Italy or incredible waffles from Les Liégeoises.

9. Le Corso

If you happen to wonder around the Eiffel Tower and are looking for a kids friendly restaurant nearby, you simply can’t go wrong by picking at table at Le Corso.

Open since 2007, this restaurant is very popular with locals but also visitors who enjoy truly innovative Italian pasta dishes. During the sunny and warm days, eating al fresco on the terrace is much appreciated.

While there is no specific kids menu, Le Corso suggests taking kids portions of the menu. For instance, your child will be able to taste the scrumptious Basque Country Veal dish for €12.5 instead of €21.5. Otherwise, some classic dishes are also offered on the table with Bolognese or Carbonara pasta.

Finally, your kids will be able to draw on the kids menu with pencils provided by the restaurant.

10. Pizzeria Popolare

Part of the Big Mamma group (check La Felicita above), Pizzeria Popolare tries to recreate a place where you can eat divine pizzas such like in Naples. With over 16,000 reviews, this is probably one of the most rated pizzerias in Paris.

The setting of the restaurant is very low key but still with style. You can find small or big tables with normal chairs or bar stools.

Location wise, you can’t find more central that Pizzeria Popolare: you are latterly minutes away from Louvre museum and close by the former Paris stock exchange venue called Palais Brongniart.

If you are keen to try original pizzas, you will be amazed by the different choices suggested on the menu: Black Truffle Cream or Mortadella with Pistachio to name a few.

11. Le Relais de l’Entrecôte

L’entrecôte means sirloin steak in French and there is a bistro style restaurant dedicated to this famous beef cut. Le Relais de l’Entrecôte is serving a unique menu with a walnut salad topped with the traditional vinaigrette followed by the steak with French fries plus a secret sauce.

For desserts, you will have the choice of classic French dishes like the Crème Brulée or the Profiteroles.

There is no children’s menu offered but I am pretty sure your kids would love this menu as much as mine when we visited Paris.

There are three addresses to discover in the French capital near the Champs Elysées, Montparnasse Tower and St Germain des Près.

12. Gros Bao

If you are looking for an evening out with the kids and want to try different dishes inspired by Chinese cuisine, head out to Gros Bao on Quai de Jemmapes.

This restaurant is particularly very visible at night with the red lights coming out when you are opposite the docks.

Try to get a table on the 1st floor with stunning views over the canal and taste different baos (steamed rice buns) , smoky ribs or the traditional crispy duck with pancakes.

Overall, this Chinese joint is comfort food at its bests with no frills with an easygoing vibe in the restaurant so perfect for families too!
