2. Café des Amis

If you are looking for a unique cafe to visit while you are in Canterbury, we would definitely recommend this one. Not only does it have a rich history but it has an exciting menu that draws on earthy and exotic flavours of ancient Mexico. If that was not enough, healthy and fresh ingredients are used. Children are more than welcome here, making it a great place for a family meal. Expect great Latin music and vibrant decor to round off the whole experience.

3. Pork & Co

If you are looking to pick up some affordable yet tasty food while on the go, you will love Pork & Co. not only do you have a wide range of 14-hour slow-cooked rare breed pork meals on the menu – from meaty nachos to pork rolls – but you can expect delicious scotch eggs, southern fried chicken, and burgers. 4. The Refectory Kitchen

As this bistro is family-run, you know that it is going to be family-friendly. It is a modern bistro, which has a simple yet diverse menu, which uses produce that has been sourced locally whenever possible. They have also put together an exciting children’s menu as well, so you do not have to worry about your little ones going hungry! It’s worth pointing out that this is an establishment that does not take bookings, so it works on a first-come-first-serve sort of basis!

5. Café du Soleil

Creative and exciting food can be found at this cafe, which is located in a beautiful setting on the banks of the River Stour in Canterbury. The menu takes influences from the Pacific rim, Italy, and Provence in southern France, creating a blend of exciting flavours. It is certainly one of the best places to eat at when the sun is shining and you can find a table outside.

6.  Olive Grove

Last but not least, we cannot talk about restaurants in Canterbury without mentioning the Olive Grove. You can expect delicious food at great prices here. There is a buffet option, enabling you to have a taster of all of the different meals on offer. There is also a kids menu as well, which consists of dishes like spaghetti bolognese, cheese and tomato pizza, fish fingers and chips, and chicken on skewers with salad and chips.
