If you are looking for somewhere fun and exciting to eat with the family, you are going to be spoilt for choice when it comes to Canterbury. There are so many exciting places in the area. However, when dining with children, you will want to make sure that the restaurants welcome kids and that you’re not going to receive death stares when you walk into the room. With that being said, we have picked out seven of the best child-friendly restaurants and cafes in Canterbury.
1. Il Posticino
As you may have gathered from the name, this is an authentic Italian restaurant, which brings a little slice of Italy to Kent. We love how rustic and cosy this restaurant it is. You feel welcome from the moment you walk through the door. Not only this but it has a great children’s menu. If you are tired of going to restaurants with the same old kid’s meals on the menu, you won’t be disappointed here. From breadcrumbed chicken fillets, deep-fried and served with chips to penne pasta in a pork and beef ragù; there is something for all little tastebuds.

2. Café des Amis
If you are looking for a unique cafe to visit while you are in Canterbury, we would definitely recommend this one. There really is something for everyone here!

It is a modern bistro, which has a simple yet diverse menu, which uses produce that has been sourced locally whenever possible. They have also put together an exciting children’s menu as well, so you do not have to worry about your little ones going hungry! It’s worth pointing out that this is an establishment that does not take bookings, so it works on a first-come-first-serve sort of basis!

Creative and exciting food can be found at this cafe, which is located in a beautiful setting on the banks of the River Stour in Canterbury. The menu takes influences from the Pacific rim, Italy, and Provence in southern France, creating a blend of exciting flavours.
