Now all you have to do is decide between pistachio, caramel, cheesecake, blueberry… the list goes on!

3. Sa Tankitta, Villasimius

Sa Tankitta receives rave reviews from families, who rate it as the best child friendly restaurant in Villasimius – a beautiful southern beach resort favoured by Italians. This place is really popular with both locals and tourists, so if you want to go for dinner, get there early – they open at 7pm, which is very early by Italian standards, but could be perfect for British kids not used to eating late.

4. Churrascaria, Porto Cervo

Feast on succulent grilled meats at this Brazilian Barbeque inspired venue, in a beautiful setting just outside Porto Cervo. Tables are indeed arranged around the garden and swimming pool, where olive trees strung with fairy lights create a beautiful atmosphere.

The kids can stretch their legs around the organic vegetable garden, spotting the herbs and veggies that will end up on their plates.

Choose from 12 cuts of meat that are grilled over charcoal then carved at your table, accompanied by a huge array of delicious salads and side dishes from the hot and cold buffet. There is no children’s menu but the beauty of it is, they can eat as much or as little as they like from the meat and buffet dishes.

5. La Pergola Ristorante Pizzeria, Alghero

Finally, the kids will love the mini aquarium inside this restaurant, with tiny turtles and crabs for them to look at. There is also a large garden with a fountain and a terrace, where you can watch your pizza being cooked in the clay oven. This relaxed pizzeria is close to the beach, so it’s a good option for a quick lunch.
