About Us

BabyBreaks was born out of a big frustration that we had as a young family to find great weekend destinations or holiday ideas that are suitable for babies, toddlers and young children.

With a very intense professional life for both parents, we didn’t necessarily have the time to spend endless hours browsing websites to find inspiration about where to go next weekend.

So we came up with the idea to design an informative platform where parents can quickly search by destination, to find the best family-friendly accommodation, restaurants and activities. All of our recommendations are geared towards young children, with the aim of making family travel as stress-free as possible.

We do hope that you find this website as useful as we wanted to be and that you will spread the word to other families so that BabyBreaks will Make other Parents Happy!

BabyBreaks Authors

Guillaume Thevenot

Guillaume is the Founder & Managing Director of BabyBreaks. He is father to a 6 year old daughter and a 10 year old boy. When he and his wife had their first child, Guillaume noticed there was a gap in the market for parents with young children who like to travel, but didn’t want to spend hours seeking out family friendly accommodation, restaurants and activities. After working for nearly 20 years for several online travel companies such as TripAdvisor, Booking.com and VoyagePrivé, he decided to create his own venture, BabyBreaks to inspire families to travel more, and to make it a stress-free experience. Guillaume has recently travelled to Sardinia, Cornwall, Corsica, Austria and Scotland.

Alexandra Holze

Alexandra is the proud mother of a baby boy. She loves travelling and is always keen to discover new restaurants wherever she goes. She has worked on the business side of several successful companies in the travel industry, including HotelsCombined and HouseTrip. She has recently travelled to South Africa, France, Scotland and Oman. Some of Alexandra’s travel dreams would be to see gorillas in the wild in Uganda and experience the unique landscapes of Alaska.

Emily McCallie-Crook

Emily is an English graduate, freelance writer and mother to a wayward toddler and an energetic Labrador. Emily has written for numerous platforms from beauty magazines to luxury travel websites such as Voyage Privé. Her most memorable travel experiences include meeting orangutans in Borneo and seeing the sunrise from the summit of Mount Agung in Bali. Emily’s bucket list destinations include a road trip down the Amalfi Coast and Costa Rica’s rainforest.

Barbara Atkinson

Barbara has 14 years’ experience in the travel industry, with feats such as hugely growing the UK and French market under her belt, whilst she worked at Booking.com.
