Cyprus is one of the most child friendly destinations in Europe, offering year-round sunshine, plentiful sandy beaches, fascinating ancient history and beautiful scenery. The island’s natural beauty is suffused with myth and legend. This is a wonderful pace for the kids to soak up some culture and sunshine at the same time. Cypriots are famously welcoming to children, putting them at the heart of family life. So you’ll find plenty of activities in Cyprus for little ones, aside from the obvious beaches. You’re unlikely to experience rainy days on this sunny island. But sometimes the morning may be cloudy if you’re visiting in Winter. Or you may simply want to escape the searing summer heat.
So let’s check out below our selection of best things to do in Cyprus with your Kids:
1. Bricks4Kidz – Limassol & Nicosia
Calling all LEGO® lovers, this is the ultimate indoor play centre for building the stuff of your dreams! In other words, these two LEGO® play centres in Limassol and Nicosia are bursting with thousands of pieces of LEGO® spread over three floors.
There are consequently lots of different areas to pique all interested, including a Lego Friends Dance Studio and a Technics LEGO® station with motorised models. And of course a DUPLO® village for toddlers.
For an extra fee, there is also the option to drop your child here for a couple of hours. So a great opportunity for you to explore the local town on your own. Or, stay put and make the most of the free wifi and cafeteria.

2. Masterland – Limassol
Children can play at being a firefighter or doctor in this fantastic make-believe city of Limassol.  Aimed at children aged 3-14, they will learn through guided play and try a wide range of jobs in a day of fun-filled exploration. Therefore a great attraction with lots of fun and learning.

3. Play4Kidz – Nicosia
At Play4Kids you will find the largest indoor playground in Cyprus, and just a 30 minute drive from the popular beach resort Larnaca. Watch their faces light up with glee as they explore the trampoline, games of twister, soft play, bowling and much more. There are even two indoor swimming pools! No wonder it is featured among our favourite activities for kids in Cyprus.

4. Natural History Museum – Larnaca
A great museum for kids, the Natural History Museum has stuffed animals, fossils and all manner of interesting exhibits for them to explore. You will see as well pretty gardens with a playground and resident peacocks, pelicans and macaws.

5. Flips & Hops – Limassol
Last but not least, a fab option for active kids who have lots of energy to burn off, this gymnastics school offers classes for all ages, including parents!
Suitable for children aged from just one year old, there’s mum and baby yoga, family acrobatics, aerial gymnastics and much more.
There are also drop in sessions and special events during the school holidays.

6. Choose your favourite beach
Cyprus has a huge number of beaches to choose from, including 64 with the Blue Flag Award for cleanliness and environmental standards. You’ll find most of the sandy beaches on the East coast, where resorts like Protaras attracts young families to its calm shallow waters and fine golden sand.
The Paphos region on the West coast is another popular spot for families, boasting several of the island’s best beaches including Coral Bay and Pissouri Beach.
If you’re after something more adventurous, head for Cape Greco’s wilder, rocky coastline for dramatic scenery, protected National Forest, fantastic snorkelling, hiking and boat trips.
7.  Petra Tou Romiou (Aphrodite’s Rock)
This beauty spot is rumoured to be the place where Aphrodite was born from the sea, and is therefore one of the island’s most famous sights. Â Locals believe that swimming here will bless you with eternal youth and beauty… so it’s worth a try, right?! However, it does get very busy, so get there early in the morning for the best photo opportunities.

8. Paphos Landmarks
There is so much ancient history to see in Paphos, and luckily lots of it is within a small area, so it’s easy for little legs to explore. So set off early to avoid the midday heat, and seek out highlights like Tomb of the Kings, Paphos Castle and mosaics dating back to the 4th century BC.

9. Aphrodite Water Park, Paphos
When you fancy a change from the hotel pool or the beach, cool off at one of the island’s three waterparks, such as Aphrodite Waterpark in Paphos. Certainly a fun-filled day out for the whole family, this is one of the best things to do in Cyprus with kids. Firstly, test your nerves on a high-speed water slide, then chill out on the lazy river or jump waves in the wave surge pool. In addition to rides, there are lots of swimming and sunbathing areas, and a fantastic play area for little ones. Lastly there are several food and drink outlets spread throughout the park too, so you’re never far from refreshments.

10. Oleastro Olive Park and Museum
For a taste of rural Cypriot life, head inland to this pretty olive park where you can see a working olive mill in action. In addition, you will learn about the traditional methods of pressing and taste the flavourful extra virgin oil.  So have a leisurely wander around the small museum and gift shop, then head to the animal petting area and playground for the kids. Lastly, you can refuel at the restaurant, which makes full use of the olive oil in its delicious, traditional dishes. Located in the picturesque village of Anogyra, this is a wonderful place to gain insight into the real Cyprus.
