If I have to pick 3 areas on where to stay in Gran Canaria with kids, I would choose:
1. Maspalomas area
At the southern part of the island, this is where most tourists stay because of the proximity of large beaches and also the different hotel resorts available to families. You can find the natural reserve of Maspalomas Dunes worth to visit on a day trip with the family.
2. Mogán area
Another big city located on the West side of Maspalomas area less than 40km from Las Palmas with a fishing harbor.
3. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Situated at the top North of the island, Las Palmas is the capital of Gran Canaria with close to 400,000 inhabitants. The city is famous for its large beach Las Canteras. The city has many museums, theatres and parks. It is definitely worth to pay a visit for a day for sure.
When is the best time to stay in Gran Canaria with Children?
The climate is simply the best you can ask for: mild in the winter around 20°C and not too hot in the summer thanks to the trade winds around the island.
Gran Canaria benefits from the ideal location close to North Western Africa sharing the same latitude as the Sahara desert. Therefore, you can expect a great weather all year round with temperature rarely below the 20°C.

From the UK, Gran Canaria is easily accessible with a flight time of around 4.5 hours. Several airlines operate direct flights to Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) from cities across the UK, such as London, Manchester, and Birmingham.
Upon arrival, the island has excellent transport links, including car hire and family-friendly taxis.
