1. Jardines de Joan Brossa

Joan Brossa Gardens opened in the Montjuïc area in 2003, and has since become a favourite of local families. Kids will love the extensive wooden play equipment, whilst parents can enjoy the modern architecture and beautiful vegetation. In addition, the cable car journey from the port to the playground is sure to delight little ones.

2. Parc de Ciutadella

This park, close to Arc de Triomf, is the largest and oldest park in Barcelona. Grandparents, parents, teenagers and toddlers will all love this  70-acre oasis. There are 3 fantastic playgrounds, including one for under 5’s. In addition, you can also rent rowing boats on the lake – a wonderful activity for the summer.

3. Barcelona Zoo

As every big city of Europe, Barcelona has its own zoo where you can see bird keepers preparing food to feed the penguins. Your kids will also enjoy the merkaat area and a great play area to relax. Don’t forget to bring big bottles of water as it tends to be very hot in the summer. Otherwise beat the crowd and the hot weather by going late afternoon since the park usually closes at 7pm.

4. Tibidado Amusement Park

Tibidado is an amusement park situated north of Sant Gervasi district which is over 100 years old with plenty of rides for young or older kids and grown ups. Therefore, you will enjoy more than 20 attractions and appreciate one the greatest view of Barcelona. Definitely a great day out with the family to do in Barcelona.

5. Montjuïc Fountains at Night – Fònt Magica

Montjuïc Fountains is a favourite tourist attraction. Open in 1929 for the Great Universal Exhibition, these fountains are the creation of the designer Carles Buigas who submitted his plans one year before the exhibition and many thought that the project was too ambitious to be created, let alone completed on time. In 2015, these fountains have been completely renovated and now displays thousands of colours several evenings per week.

In short, a magical show that will surprise adults and kids for sure.
