Long and lazy brunches for families is one of our favourite weekend activities in London and the capital has a plethora of great restaurants and cafes for those with kids in tow. Early mornings may be part and parcel of parenthood, but when an 8am trip to the park is followed by great coffee and poached eggs, we can’t really complain! Whether it’s the fab play area or the fluffiest pancakes, each of the venues on our list has a USP for young families, and of course they all boast those important details like baby changing facilities and a breastfeeding friendly policy. Let’s dive into our best family brunch in London.

1. Serpentine Bar & Kitchen

Enjoy serene views of Hyde Park’s Serpentine Lake at this spacious, laid back cafe in London.  Spots swans, pedalos and people as you tuck into baked eggs, granola with berry compote or a breakfast bap. Breakfast is served from 8am-11:30 everyday, and there’s a good value children’s menu for later in the day too. The outdoor seating is perfect for summer, although the cafe’s huge floor to ceiling windows mean you can admire the views all year round.

2.  Granger & Co. Clerkenwell

Situated opposite Clerkenwell Green, Granger & Co. is a stylish Australian eatery serving modern fare with an innovative twist.  The light, minimalist interiors are spacious enough for prams and scooters, and the green opposite is perfect for playing between courses. The breakfast menu, served until 12pm, features the most amazing ricotta hotcakes with banana and honeycomb butter, as well as healthier options like avocado toast, and sweetcorn fritters. The kids are sure to enjoy simple dishes like soft boiled eggs.

There are also branches of Granger & Co. in Kings Cross, Notting Hill and Chelsea, so whichever corner of London you’re in, those hotcakes are not too far away…

Situated on the aptly named Bread Street near St. Paul’s Cathedral, this Gordon Ramsey Restaurant has a laid back atmosphere and a fab children’s menu inspired by Tilly Ramsey’s cookbook (one of Gordon’s daughters). Kids under 12 eat free too, which is a welcome money-saver in a central London restaurant.  The venue’s ‘Family Sundays’ feature live entertainment from music to magicians and face painting, whilst you tuck into classic brunch favourites or a traditional Sunday roast with free flowing fizz .

4. Caravan London Bridge

If you are venturing around Borough Market and Tate Modern over the weekend, you have to try this modern and trendy brunch place in London.

We’ve recently booked a large table with 2 families for a cheeky Sunday brunch at Caravan London Bridge. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our English breakfast and how busy this place was. Staff was very helpful and quick to serve our breakfast at the large table.

Make sure you pre-book your table for Sunday as it was packed last time we were there.
