1. Lauriston Castle – Hallowe’en at the Castle

Sunday 27th Oct 2024 at 11am – If you fancy a morning activity at a castle, celebrate Halloween with your kids at the beautiful Lauriston Castle.

Aimed at children accompanied with their parents,  this 2-hour activity is a fun ghostly adventure walk exploring the grounds and rooms of the castle.

So along the way they will meet bizarre characters like magic wizards and be invited to join some arts & craft activities.

2. Halloween at Wonder World Soft Play

26th October 2024 – If you are local to Edinburgh, you probably know this massive soft play venue, called Wonder World located on the North of Edinburgh.

For 2024, the venue has prepared some great activities for your little monsters during the Halloween weekend.

Your children will enjoy an afternoon of arts and crafts, music, games and so much more. It goes without saying that if your children come with their scariest outfit, it will be much appreciated!

Pre-book the 2-hour session as earlier as possible to avoid disappointment.

3. Almond Valley Heritage Centre – Family Friday Fright and SPOOKtober

Local parents love Almond Valley (a working watermill and farm) for its child friendly activities including animal enclosures,  tractor rides and play areas. Surrounded by beautiful rural scenery, it feels a world away from the busy city centre. After dark on 25th and 26th October 2024 from 6pm until 9pm, strange creatures of the night emerge from the shadows and stalk the moonlit fields of the farm. A spooky experience that older kids will love.

Alternatively, visit during the day from 5th October to 31st October 2024 for fun and games for little monsters 👻, in an all day Halloween party with music, crafts and games and a ghostly mysterious quiz trail.

Last but not least, the venue has come up with a new event this year. You can attend with your children the SPOOKTACULAR Ball on 31st October 2024 from 6pm until 8pm with lots of suprises.

4. Halloween at Dalkeith Country Park

There is a lot going on at Dalkeith Country Park during the Halloween festive time. So here is the busy agenda of all activities you could with the family.

13th October to 27th October 2024 – whether you fancy picking your own pumpkin or intrigued to hear some ghostly tales, Halloween Happenings offers a whole range of activities not to be missed for the whole family

12th October to 27th October 2024 – children who love manual activities have to book their session at the Kids’ Halloween Craft Workshops. There will be lots of different things you could take home like a ceramic pumpkin you had decorated with your own creatives or paper decorations you could hang in your bedroom. Make sure to pre-book this activity as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

12th October to 27th October 2024 – Dalkeith Country Park is bringing this year a  pumpkin patch at the Orangerie so you can bring back home your favourite pumpkin to decorate

5. Halloween at Edinburgh Zoo

26th and 27th October 2024 9 to 11am – if you’d prefer to visit the Edinburgh Zoo in the morning, why not booking your Beasties and Broomsticks Brunch. You will be guided by different rangers and spot your favourite animal with maybe some strange encounters. Also a breakfast will be served at the Gannet including in your entry. Make sure to book your ticket in advance though.

6. Lil’ Monsters Breakfast at Hard Rock Cafe

The kids are sure to love this Halloween party at family favourite restaurant, The Hard Rock Cafe.  There will be a fancy dress disco, face painting, slime making and lots more. This year the popular Halloween breakfast is held on Sunday 27th October 2024 at 10.30am.
