Berlin has many reputations – a party city with a boundary-breaking music scene, an artistic hub with cutting edge architecture and street art, and a living piece of history with a complex and intense past. These are just a few of the city’s many faces, so no wonder it attracts such a wide range of visitors each year- there’s something for everyone here.
There are loads of attractions here for families, including fashionable Kindercafes where parents and children are kept equally as happy with excellent coffee and fun play areas.
In the summer you can meet hundreds of exotic animals as you roam around the amazing Tierpaerk, Europe’s largest zoo, set in the grounds of Friedrichsfelde Palace, whilst winter is the perfect time to explore the city’s huge variety of musuems including the interactive Labyrinth Children’s Museum.
The Berlin Wall and the Holocaust Museum are two of the most evocative sites, where your children can really start to understand what they learnt in their history books. For something more lighthearted, you can’t go wrong with Legoland!
