1. Fowey Hall Hotel
This coastal manor is perched just above the Fowey Estuary on the south Cornish coast. It offers everything you could need for a great family holiday, including a family-friendly spa, a complimentary crèche and plenty of space for children to play in the beautiful grounds.
Fowey Hall Hotel is within easy reach of many fantastic Cornish attractions such as The Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
The kids will love discovering the Cornish Piskie trail, climbing frame, tyre swing and zip wire. Parents can retreat to the beautiful spa complete with sea view hot tub. Children are welcome at the spa’s indoor pool from 9am – 6:30, so you can all have fun as a family. There are also wellies, fishing nets and buckets and spades to borrow free of charge. Walk 1.8 miles along the South West Coastal Path to stunning Bedruthan Steps, the National Trust protected beauty spot -although be warned, the steep descent down to the beach is not suitable for prams or young children unless they can be carried. The hotel is also just a 20 minute drive from Padstow, a pretty harbour town famous for it’s Rick Stein fish restaurants and chic seaside vibe.
The hotel’s family friendly facilities include outdoor and indoor play areas, an outdoor pool, a complimentary kids club (two hours per day), and a free programme of family activities during school holidays such as craft workshops and sports tournaments.

3. Carbis Bay Hotel
Just outside St Ives, this contemporary hotel offers sublime sea views and all-out luxury. The 125 acres estate is a tranquil refuge from the crowds of St Ives. It provides everything you need in one place, from a stunning sandy beach with a watersports centre, a private yacht available for hire. The hotel also has fine dining restaurants, an award-winning spa, and a kids club packed full of activities from baking and arts and crafts to a circus skills workshop. Let them be entertained at the Kids Club while you relax at the spa, then embark on a family walk at Watergate bay, Newquay’s most famous surfing beach that’s just minutes away. Trip Advisor agrees that this is one of the best family hotels in Cornwall.

5. Polurrian on the Lizzard
Occupying a spectacular clifftop setting on the Lizard Peninsula, this historic hotel dates back to 1890. Its list of famous guests include Winston Churchill and Clark Gable. Although a fire devastated most of the original building in 1909. It is now a chic, contemporary haven of tranquillity, and the perfect antidote to busy modern life. You can enjoy morning slow-flow yoga, seal-spotting boat trips, surfing and horse riding lessons.
The South West Coastal Path is literally at the end of the hotel’s garden, and leads you to two beautiful beaches within minutes. Stunning Kynance Cove (Poldark fans will recognise this beauty spot) is just 7 miles away.
