1. CosmoCaixa

CosmoCaixa is a great science museum that will entertain both adults and children. You will be able to see a fragment of the recreated Amazon forest, a 3D Planetarium or a room dedicated to experiences.

Don’t forget to take your kids to the Toca-Toca activities where they will touch and feel small animals (4€ per person for this guided activity)

2. L’Aquàrium Barcelona

The Aquarium of Barcelona located on Port Vell is a great place for underwater aficionados whether you like tropical fishes, sharks, starfishes or seahorses. You will be able to see an exhibition dedicated to children called Explora! designed to raise awareness of the marine world.

It features over 50 activities in which children can touch, see, listen to, investigate and discover nature.

Last but not least, you can book an overnight stay at the Aquarium and sleep underneath the sharks (only available on the first Friday and third Saturday of each month and make sure you book at least a week in advance)

3. Fundatió Joan Miró

Barcelona wouldn’t be Barcelona without the genius art of Joan Miró. Even some vacation rental agencies have found some inspiration to decorate their flats. The Joan Miró museum is dedicated to this Barcelona born artist.

Museums of modern art could be quite daunting for families but you could entertain your children by booking a family friendly activity available on certain dates of the year.

4. Chocolate Museum or Museu de la Xocolata

This private museum is not Willy Wonka factory for sure. However it is a great venue to learn everything about this guilty pleasure: Chocolate.

You will learn how it is made, when it was discovered and how it got to be eaten or drunk.

Your kids will certainly recognise some Disney characters too. At the museum shop, you can buy many different kinds of chocolate to satisfy adults and kids palates.
