1. Haus der Natur – House of Nature
This museum dedicates 7,000 m2 to animals. Discover a great aquarium and an interactive room where your kids will play with physics. Also a room full of reptiles and a Science Center. House of Nature is so big that you could spend a whole day inside without being bored. Also you have a great restaurant suitable for families with a soft play area.

2. Spielzeug Museum – Toy Museum
Spielzeug Museum is designed for young children and is among the best children’s museum in Europe. When you enter the premises, you are being asked to remove your shoes. Wander the museum with your socks on wear Crocs shoes available for free at the reception.
Your kids will explore different areas on different floors. Like story telling, history of toys, play a massive racing-car game, pretend to be in shop or build something with wooden pieces. You could easily spend half a day in this museum. This is a clear favorite attraction among locals with their toddlers or young children.

3. Hohensalzburg Castle
The first time you discover the city of Salzburg, you can’t help looking up at this magnificent fortress and the Hohensalzburg Castle. While you could walk up to the fortress, it is advisable to take the funicular with your children which includes tickets entries to the castle and museums. You will be guaranteed to experience one of the best attractions for Kids while visiting Salzburg.
This activity is probably best done in the morning so you can take great pictures from the fortress overlooking the beautiful landscapes that surround Salzburg. In the entrance of the museum, there is a great introduction about how the castle has evolved over time since the 11th century.

4. Marionette Museum
On your visit to the Fortress, don’t miss to spend some time in the Marionette Museum where you and your kids can learn the history of Salzburg and of course experience different sceneries inspired by Mozart Operas.

5. Hangar 7
Hangar 7 is so much more than an aircraft hangar. Close by the Salzburg Airport, this venue hosts the famous Red Bull Aircraft but also Formula 1 cars. The architecture of this hanger is quite unique also with a café, a restaurant with guest chefs and different temporary exhibitions. On your way back to the airport, you should definitely spend 2 hours over there and also it’s FREE.
