Over many years, Pembrokeshire has gained a reputation as a proud producer of quality foods, thanks to its abundant natural resources. Surrounded by sea, and home to numerous grazing cows, families can look forward to feasting on the freshest seafood and indulgent local ice cream. Thanks to its miles of coastal footpaths, most pubs and cafes are very welcoming to sandy shoes, dogs and children!

BabyBreaks has researched the best family friendly restaurants in Pembrokeshire, so you can plan your mealtimes with ease.

1. Quayside Tearoom

An award winning tearoom on the water’s edge of estuary town Lawrenny, this serene spot is a lovely place for a light bite, where you can watch the boats bobbing on the water. Enjoy simple sandwiches, fresh tarts, homemade cakes and local beer. The outside seating is perfect for active kids as you won’t need to worry about asking them to sit still the whole time!

Please note Quayside Lawrenny Tearoom is ONLY open between March 1st and October 31st

2. Cafe Môr

Multi-award winning Cafe Môr is a mobile beach cafe serving outstanding food, and is entirely solar powered – one of only two solar powered mobile food outlets in the UK. The owner is obsessive about local produce, and elevates the usual beachside fare to create sophisticated dishes like Pembrokeshire Plaice with Fennel, Orange and Almond Salad.

Everything is ethically sourced, and the seafood the freshest you could imagine (Môr means sea in Welsh). They are also famous for their lobster rolls, so make sure you try one.

Ideally located on Freshwater West Beach, Cafe Môr does get busy, but trust us, the queue will be worth it.

Please note: Cafe Môr is only open from Easter until the end of September.

3. The Stackpole Inn

First, this B&B and restaurant is just a short walk from the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, making it a popular pitstop with walkers. The pretty, historic pub draws inspiration from the surrounding waters and countryside to create its seasonally changing menus. The front garden is also a lovely spot to enjoy your meal in the summer, where the kids can run around to their heart’s content. No wonder why this venue is featured among our family friendly restaurants in Pembrokeshire.

In addition, the Stackpole Inn has won numerous awards including ‘Best in the County’ at The National Pub and Bar Awards for 2017.
